the best engine lubricant products for your car or light
duty truck. Chevron Supreme Motor Oils are formulated to
reduce engine deposits and deliver protection while
driving. With regular use, they can promote long engine
life and protect against high temperature oxidation,
rust, corrosion, varnish, sludge and oil thickening.
They all exceed the latest API specifications for
essentially all new cars and light trucks.
To
meet your special driving needs, Chevron offers
different grades of Chevron Supreme:
Multigrade Motor Oils 5W-20
5W-30
10W-30
10W-40
20W-50
Recommended Use
- All four-cycle gasoline engines in passenger
cars, light trucks, power boats, motorcycles and other
mobile and stationary equipment.
- Excellent for high-revving engines in small
cars and light trucks.
- All grades are specially formulated for use in
turbo-charged engines.
Single Grade Motor
Oils SAE 30
SAE
40
Recommended
Use
- All four-cycle gasoline engines in passenger
cars, light trucks, powerboats, and other mobile and
stationary equipment where single grade oils are
recommended.
Recommended for use in two-stroke cycle diesel
engines and off-road four-stroke cycle

Chevron Supreme Synthetic Motor
Oils
Supreme
Engine Protection for SUVs, High Performance and Luxury
Cars Chevron
Supreme 100% Synthetic Motor Oils are designed for those
drivers who demand the ultimate in engine protection.
They provide an extra measure of protection for your
investment in a sport utility vehicle (SUV), high
performance, or luxury car. Chevron Supreme 100%
Synthetic Motor Oils give improved protection to high
output, supercharged and turbocharged performance
vehicles.
Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic Motor Oils are
formulated using 100% synthetic base stocks for the best
performance. The improved volatility and stability of
synthetic base stocks give reduced oil consumption,
faster engine starting (especially in cold weather), and
extremely fast lubrication of all moving parts compared
to conventional mineral oils. In addition, a special
blend of additives protects the engine against harmful
deposits and wear.
Chevron offers three different grades
of Synthetic Motor Oils to meet your driving
needs:
Chevron Supreme 100%
Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil
- This is the preferred viscosity grade of U.S.
automobile manufacturers. It exceeds the requirements
of API SJ and ILSAC GF-2.
It provides superior performance in extreme
cold temperatures.
Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic
10W-30 Motor Oil
- This is the most widely used viscosity grade in
the U.S. It exceeds the requirements and API SJ and
ILSAC GF-2.
Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic
15W-50 Motor Oil
- This is the preferred grade for European
manufacturers such as Mercedes Benz, Volvo and BMW. It
meets API SJ and the demanding ACEA European Oil
Sequences A3 and B3. Although these vehicles accept
API SJ quality oils in the U.S. market, their engines
are designed around ACEA quality lubricants.
Note: Always follow manufacturer's
recommendations regarding motor oil SAE
grade.

Choosing the Right Motor Oil
 What
to Look for on a Motor Oil Label The symbol
at left is referred to as the "API donut." It
gives you three pieces of information. API (American
Petroleum Institute) Service Rating: This two-letter
classification identifies the vehicle fuel type and
quality level of the motor oil. The first letter
indicates the vehicle fuel type that the oil is designed
for. Ratings that begin with an "S" are intended for
gasoline engines. Ratings that begin with a "C" are for
diesel engine. The second letter designates the quality
level of the motor oil. The higher the letter, the more
advanced the oil and the more protection it offers your
engine. An SJ oil can be used in any engine requiring an
SB, SG, SH, etc. oil.
SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers)
Viscosity Grade Viscosity is
a measure of an oil's thickness, or resistance to flow.
Lower numbers indicate thinner oil and higher numbers
indicate thicker oil. There are two types of motor oils,
single grade and multi-grade. Multigrade oil such as a
10W-30, are designed to have the viscosity of an SAE 10W
oil at cold temperatures combined with the viscosity of
an SAE 30 oil at engine operating temperatures. The "W"
or "Winter" designation indicates that the oil meets
viscosity requirements for low temperatures (below 30°
F).
Energy
Conserving Oils
displaying this phase are formulated with friction
modifiers to improve fuel economy in an industry
standard test.
ILSAC
The International
Lubricant Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC)
in association with the API created a symbol for the
front of the bottle that indicates an oil meets both the
latest performance category, SJ, and the Energy
Conserving standard.
